Single conductors

Can single conductors be run though conduit bigger then is needed and then down to smaller conduit ( sealite , flex, or pvc ) to go into box?

More of there is not an article that says you can't. As long as your transition between the conduits is correct and the smallest conduit is large enough for the number and size of the conductors there would be nothing wrong with it.
