We are staring on a new campus development, that will consist of multiple buildings. Campus will be served via a developer owned substation, delivering power to each building at 5kV. Each building will have individual transformation to step down power to either 277/480 or direct to 120/208. The developer would like to minimize the number of life safety generators he purchases and would like to feed adjacent buildings from a single generator. The generator would serve life safety loads in each building, along with optional standby loads. The generator will have a generator distribution panel at it's output, that will serve secondary generator distribution panels at each building. 4w services would be run to each generator secondary distribution board to allow for connection to life safety and optional standby ATS devices. All ATS with neutrals would be 4 pole devices, switching the neutrals to deal with separately derived sources. As there may be low voltage connections between buildings, the intent would be to have a common EGC around all buildings keeping the ground potential of all buildings the same. I am looking at this as outside feeders for both normal services and generator services, as the utility stops at the substation and all 5kV feeders are developer owned. I believe that each secondary distribution board would act as a means of disconnect in each building. Each ATS would be able to start the generator independently. Is my thought process correct? Is there something that I may be overlooking, other than local AHJ of FD having an issue? Thank you
