Single phase disconnect for 120V motors

I'm doing a project that will require a couple dozen branch circuits to 1/2HP overhead doors. Each is 120V, 9.8A. In this instance, I have always show thermal switches for the disconnecting means. Is that term still in use. When I do a google search for such a thing, I don't get anything actually called that. What SHOULD I be specifying. Note: It seems that conventional disconnect switches are limited to

Depends on if the motor is internally protected. If it is a 20 amp single pole with locking provisions is fine. If not a manua motor starter is required, in my opinion.

The term you probably are looking for is “manual motor starter”. Most of those fractional hp motors have built in OL protection though. You probably need to just spec a motor rated switch instead.
