210.52(C)(2) says nothing about a sink. I'd still say only one is required.

Edit to add: Here's one I did a couple months ago.

Switch for can lights on left..... recep on right.

You are still required to have an outlet within 2' of each side of the sink. The location of the sink doesn't really matter imo.

Haven't used one yet myself, but we are going to very soon on a project we have on the go.
Might be a good option for you. Another option is plugmold.

2' from the sink according to...?

Silllights in the c'top: 406.4(F).

According to the drawing... According to standard kitchen layout rules... You are dealing with a sink, it doesn't matter where it is in the kitchen. It's a sink and you are required to have an outlet within 24" or 2' of it.

Not in the c'top - infront of it on the faceplate between drawers, above drawers wherever you can fit it...

It would depend on how much counter is on the backside of the sink, basically is the sink cutting the pennisula in two?

Yes, consider it too the far side of the Item (structure),the sink cuts it in half well, yes basically, but consider this, what would only that in respects to the shorter side, to the inside of the kitchen, BE ! ? ?

I don't wire to a drawing..... I wire to the Code. How 'bout a number?

Do the Silllights have a box they sit in, or is it all open under all that purty?

I understand what you are getting at- wether or not the sink cuts the counter into two seperate spaces or not.
So then the question becomes from there- where does the peninsula start?

From what I understand- and like I said I haven't seen these in person yet, but did get an email from a rep- it seems like they function like a cord end with a 1/2" threaded coupling in the back so you can screw in an mc connector, flex conn, nm connector or whatever.

If the sink were to the end of the peninsula ( away from the wall ) and there was more then 12" of counter space there ,you would need a second receptacle on that side. IMO

Their is a difference in the "Wall Counter Space" and just a sink in an island or peninsular. The 24" basic requirement applies to the "Wall Counter Spaces" and having a sink in an island lets say would still only require (1) receptacle. Unless ofcourse the space from the back of the sink to the counter is less than 12" then you have (2) islands and (2) receptacles would be required...one on each island.

Interesting.

Personally I would have put one on the other end of that huge island. appliances only come with a two foot cord and I personally would be really irritated if I spent all that money, had all that space and could only plug into one spot. But hey thats just me. And I dont give it for free either, i just work stuff like that into the price. I really enjoy wiring high end kitchens and making them user friendly. But then again people that buy really high end kitchens dont cook anyway so I guess you did the right thing. Thats not the main sink is it? it looks really small!

That kit acually looks like it was designed by someone that acually had a clue. The Island does seem a little big though. I would hate to have to walk around that bad boy all the time while Im cooking. But at least they keept the major appliances grouped together. I love it when they put the fridge, sink and stove on totally opposite ends of the kit . I like to give people my two cents when I first see their layouts.
