Site Splice

In the attached scenario( lighting) you would have to splice in the box to bring the wires to the light correct? You couldn't pull the wires to the pole then back down into the conduit out of the box? Usually I believe the wire size to the pole would be smaller than then main conductors so you would need a splice.

You can do it either way if the raceway is big enough for the in and out loop to go into the fixture base. Splicing in the base gets the splices out of the box which can fill with water.
