Re: size g.e.c to driven rods

allenwayne,
I have the same problem with different inspectors in my area. About 20 cities and counties.
What has been a big help to get all of them on the same page was to invite them to every Mike Holt's classes and code change seminars that we have in our local area. You cannot belive the impact this has had.

tstern that`s a pretty good idea maybe that would teach these inspectors to do thier jobs properly ;) I don`t advocate caving in but still have a production rate to maintain. One our biggest customers goes from slab to finals in 60 days doesn`t matter if it is 1,250 sq ft. or 5,000 sq ft. ;) But does the end justify the means....P off the inspector or p off the builder .Wow that`s an easy one

Sent a service tech to a home today to fix a pool companies tag service door light 9 ft. from waters edge and not gfci protected. It is an all plastic fixture no exposed metal set screws are plastic only metal was mounting bar under the plastic fixture.Added a gfci device feeding the switch and he put a sticker on it.
Probably because 680.22(B)(4) requires it. What difference does it make if the fixture is plastic or metal? Covered in water, it could potentially kill someone either way. Code requires it either way.

Inspectors aren't always wrong... :D

I'm not sure if you're still in the field, or what your situation is. Perhaps a solution is to have the crew "cave" on the current house, while you deal with this in the office? It doesn't necessarily have to halt production, right? Ya' mean?
