Is the 1.25 multiplier ever used in sizing wires? I always thought that multiplier was used only for sizing overloads or circuit breakers with continuous loads.

Yes. If your sizing the wire like say for a motor load do you have to factor in the 1.25? Or wire size for any load for that matter?
