Most slabs are poured but I keep seeing references to core drills which make me think it's precast. This is new construction.
I'm reviewing the structural drawings and see this composite slab. Anyone ever seen/heard of this?

Looks like steel decking with concrete veneer.

"Topping slab". (Or maybe that term only applies when the concrete is thinner and there is a structure that would span fairly well below it without any concrete.) Both the metal deck and the concrete are structural--the metal deck provides additional tension reinforcement for the bottom of the slab. The slab itself will still have rebar within it.
