do sleeping rooms in dormitories (no bathroom or cooking, not a dwelling unit) require arc-fault circuit breakers or temper resistant receptacles.
The CMP did their best to address in the -08 Code by adding "sleeping rooms" in dorms to 210.60.
A look there should clarify any questions.
210.60 talks about receptacle placement but does not reference arc-fault cb's or TR receptacles.

I worked on a dorm project for a university in central NJ and all of the receptacles where on afci circuit breakers,even the bathroom gfci
