I have my master license in new jersey and do side work and i pay about 600 a year for a 1 million dollar coverage for an llc. Of course there are other fees.. car insurance. license fees, state fees. but its cheap enough as a part timer and if you are getting additions, service changes and remodels then hell yes. one addition will cover your business for the year.. ill do about 15-20k in side work for this year and next year ill do more. i started an llc because i didnt like doing side work without insurance. helps me sleep at night
