Well we have the same basic things everyone else has running. We have washer/dryer/central heat and air and the only thing extra is a pool pump that runs during the summer.

The IPL Rate Schedule looks like this. You will notice that there are different rates for different equipment or different uses. Look at residential rates and compare them with the commercial rates or compare the residential rate structure of gas heat with electric heat.

Most (all?) electric utilities have rate structures similar to ours but with different rates. If you contact your electric utility, you can see what your particular rate is for your home. :D

All kidding aside electric noob, typically commercial customers get better rates than residential because they use more juice. It's like buying in bulk. The same reason you can get a lifetime supply of spaghetti at Costco for like $1.00 :D
