It takes great pictures and you can zoom and pan.
I guess my only problem is that the micro SD memory card is UNDER the battery!
On the Dash and some other phones, you can insert the memory externally.

If you get the Iphone, immediately purchase a spare screen (under $200 bucks).
Most field guys I have met break their screen the first month.
Dont be tempted to buy the display seperate from the digitizer, its almost impossible to seperate.
Youtube has a great video on how to replace the screen.

I broke the screen on my blackberry once (dropped 30' off a billboard catwalk) and had to send it to Texas to get repaired, luckily I could pull my sim card out and install it in a spare phone I had laying around while I waited on getting it repaired.

I broke my Curve screen and ordered a replacement from a place in Glendale, Ca.
I was on vacation when it was due to be shipped, found out Glendale was only about 1/2 hour drive from where I was going.
I was able to pick it up and change it out while I was on the road, for less than $40.
Blackberry wanted $190 and three weeks to repair it.

. . . I have to constantly go in and turn off programs because they don't stop running when you "X" out of them. They always run in the background. . .
I had that problem as well and downloaded Harald-Rene Flasch Switch. It works like Switcher on the Dell products and you can close any or all of the open applications very easily. You can switch between applications without losing your place in either one. I no longer remember but, I think, it is shareware.

I went through two Balckberrys before they replaced with it with a Treo. The trackball went on them, one within four months from new, and the replacement ONE month later. I could NOT do anything but make a call from the key pad. I could not access any of the menus or look at my address book or calender.
I liked the Berry, but it was too "weak" for our kind of work. I can see an estimator or supervisor with a Blackberry, they really are nice phones, but I like my Treo just as much and it is MUCH tougher.

I am a "working contractor", so my phone is on me most all times, tools or not.

I am like the others here. I am not the best at time management and remembering things. I NEED the phone or PDA to remind me of when things are supposed to happen.

I also agree about the "once in a while" internet use that can save the day.
Also, I need the calender function syncing with Outlook. I use Outlook's calender for my scheduling so it is nice having a mini version of it on me at all times.

Do any of these hi-falutin phones have the graffiti feature. My Palm Z22 is just a PDA that includes graffiti for making notes. I also use it for my schedule and contacts, and it syncs with outlook. No e-mail, phone or Wi-fi. I have not seen any phone/pda that includes graffiti. To me a qwerty keyboard is too slow for note taking.

Windows Mobile and, before that, the Pocket PC operating system include handwriting recognition. There are several text styles to choose from. I experimented with it, but didn't like the changes that it required in my printing style.

I have found that when I need quick note taking, I also need sketches, so the "Notes" application in the Widows Mobile allows both the sketch and the writing to be done directly to the screen. The writing isn't a text file, just an image. But it is quick.

I just switched from a palm with graffiti to a Palm Centro with a keyboard. I found that I can type about the same speed as I could write with graffiti.

My Palm T/X has grafitti, but my Treo does not.

I find the grafitti on my T/X is faster than using the touch keyboard.
At the same time, the qwerty keys on my Treo are MUCH faster than even the grafitti on the T/X.

This is just in my experience.

I do alot better with the full qwerty keyboard.

The blackberry is the only one I know of that pushes your email. I know that Windows CE has to be scheduled to "go get it".

How does the TREO work with Email?

The email program on mine has to be scheduled to go check for new mail.

I believe that my Treo is set to check every 15 minutes. Now I have a situation with it synching. It keeps asking for a password. It is a piece of crap and I am losing faith in Verizon as well
