Snow Melting Cable

I know it's a little early to talk about snow, but I need to install some snow melting cable on my roof, gutter and downspout.

My roof has about a 12" overhang and the ice builds up in the winter and then the water leaks into the house.

Time to fix this.

Anyone have any recommendations on snow melting cable systems?
Either fixed length or cut in the field?

I have never install this before.
Maybe some of the residential guys that have, and can make some recommendations.

I haver only used the fixed length version. That might be all they make these days. Not rocket science but you have to do a little figuring the get the length that you need

I'd also recomend the sensor that controls the cable rather than having to rmember to turn it on and off.

This is the product of choice.

I hardwired this to a gfi, which is used as the disconnect, for a client a few years ago. They are way happy with it. It is installed it in the gutter only, as the homeowners did not want to see the cable climb on the shingles. It is a fairly easy system to install, and can be purchased at any desired length.
