NEC 2017 section 426 mentions snow melting impedance heating, skin affect heating. Does the snow melting equipment come with different heating or are they all the same?

If you are familiar with the ferromagnetic heating caused when you run a high current on an insulated wire inside a steel conduit, you will recognize how "skin effect" heating works.
Since the current on the conductive central wire is identical from one end of the circuit to the other, this form of heating is very suitable for long runs of protected pipe.
No problems with voltage drop or feeds to many elements in parallel.
Essentially the tube around the main conductor is a single turn secondary winding of a distributed transformer.
The actual heating is resistive heating from the circumferential current induced in the tube.
