Hi all.
I'm in an area that was hit pretty hard by Irene. There was much flooding. Basements, garages etc were completely submerged, along with electrical panels, wiring and boxes.
Townships have sent out notices to replace breakers, but I was wondering also about the insulation of the wires (and also the cu) of nm,ac (newer and older types)...... Any thoughts on the integrity of these circuit and feeder conductors being compromised? I expect any devices and splices would also be a concern. Some of these homes have been flooded several times (3 times in one year), and before I just start swapping out breakers (or panels), I'd like to know that my suspicions of the wiring system are valid.
Thank you.
