Who knows how to remove the chuck from a 9.6V Makita drill motor?

Should be the same for any make I would think.

Open the chuck all the way and look into the center. Theres a screw there. I can't remember if it's a reverse thread. Good luck!

Yes, there is a left hand screw to keep the chuck from unscrewing with reverse rotation.

Trick is in removing the chuck. I remove the screw, then hold the chuck while I run the motor in reverse. Comes right off, unless you have corrosion or Loctite.

Once you remove the screw, if the chuck is still stubborn, tighten it onto the short leg of a large Allen wrench, and strike the long leg in the correct direction with a hammer.

Note: the screw will have the aforementioned left-hand thread, but the chuck will have a standard right-hand thread.

Now I am confused which is my left and which one is my right. I thought it was sun hand and moon hand.
