spa and swimming pool GFCI

hello guys :

i have a question here about this set up this guy asked me but i polietly bow out of this one until i get this issuse sloved


anyway here it is

the spa is 8 feet away from pool edge and the question about using the disconnection switch for spa tub [ more than 5 feet away from spa edge to wall ]

this set up is indoor usage so i dont know how it will cover related with the codes i have few conflets between the two so if you can high lighted where the codes will fall in this area so i can prepared to see if i can take this job or hand over to other EC

that why i want to ask it ahead of the time before i do any upgrading the electrical system in the pool room

The question is the disconnect switch for spa tub and swimming pool disconnet switch both must be on sight of view or can be in the pump room ??

because i feel this is not a really safe set up and i need some kind of referince related to the code for disconnection switch.

I know the spa required a disconnecion switch 5- 10 feet away from edge of the tub but this is indoor usage so i dont know if the NEC do cover indoor verison.

the pool pump disconnection switch is located in the pump room which i feel it is not safe at all in case of emegercy sisuation arise.

so , i just want get all the facts with NEC code line up so i can dealt with the comuster with this set up and if he dont budge i will call the inspector to help me on this matter

Hot tub indoor installs refer you to parts 1 & 2 of art. 680. 680.12 requires a disconnect to be readily accessible & within site from it's equipment. That would also apply to a pool. Is this a dwelling unit? Ron

yes one location is at resdential location and the second one i just got the details today at commercal area [ city pool centre ]

that why i want to be very carefull with this code reguarding the spa and pool set up


Thanks for the art 680.12 i was reading on 02 code cycle and reading the 05 code cycle and somehow i got lost with translation due i have NEC code printed in french but somehow the words just dissapair on me

so that why i want to ask you guys for head up so i am in right track
