Speaker in Class 1 Division 1

First post, long time follower.

Searched the web low and high, in and out, can't come across an intrinsically safe speaker that would be good for audio/music. At first we discussed an FM/AM radio but now hope to find just a speaker that could be wired to a receiver in a different location. Has anyone else come across something like this? Or had any success using a "loud" speaker.

You won't find an IS speaker. The power requirements for any speaker that could be heard any distance from the speaker would prevent it being IS. There are XP ones available.
 
Reminds me of a client where an operator melted his DVD player to the floor when a solvent spilled on it. The operator wanted to get reimbursed for his property damage.

Well thanks for your replies, sounds like a paging speaker might have to work.

As far as being complacent, we feel there is no harm in a little background music to keep the operators awake and alert. Furthermore, happy employees=productive employees.
