Got tagged this morning 85 in a 75 on the interstate. Curious as to the fact if anyone has ever used any of the services "We take of your ticket for yous" advertisements?

Not to concerned about the fine with the ticket, but don't need a 'blemish' on a spotless record. Ticket can effect insurance, driving record, and credit rating, so for less than $250, it would seem like a deal.

Other than that, stuck with calling insurance, and pre-paid legal, for advice.

I'm listening, for how others have fared. Last ticket was over 7 years ago in Canada - never got reported this side the border.

On the highways around here 10 miles/hour over the limit and the cop wouldn't even put down his donut. Can't comment on the ticket services since I never knew that they existed. Good Luck.

If you already have too many points racked up on your insurance, it could be worth the expense to hire a ticket-fixing sleazeball. But if you have an otherwise clean record, you can often get the same result for free, just by showing up in court. I've never had a speeding ticket, but both my wife and son have, and when they showed up in court their moving violation citations were converted to non-moving violations and no points were assigned. "Pay your fine, have a nice day..."

Depends on jurisdiction and circumstance, of course. Good luck.

I don't know about your area. But when I got my first ticket (couple hundred years ago on another planet), I was advised to appear in court at the appointed date and time, and plead guilty. What they did was to hold the conviction in suspense for a year, after which it disappeared completely from my record. I had to pay the same fine I would have had to pay had I not bothered to show up, but my record remained clear.

Your Day in Court

Your Day in Court

In the Pine Tar State we have what amounts to a laymen asking for a,
"Prayer for Judgment". I'm not sure that that?s available in you State.

What it amounts to is asking for it as one faces the judge, sometimes they'll lower or drop down the offense based on previous history etc... and can be found here PFJ, this is a commonwealth state.

Short of calling a Lawyer for advise or obtaining one.
I'd be sure to carry a notarized copy of your DMV record to court. (call ahead for that), and/or is avaiable to the court to aid thier judgement.

Most times the prosecutor is available before court to screen peps
(ASK for a reduction on ticket) and the nature of thier offense(s) or to note continuations, etc. Good Luck !!

Maybe I should have told the Nevada state trooper, that I was on my way to the "Mike Holt 500 (this is my 499th post), and was trying to catch a guy named Iwire, or Celtic, or.... Assuming the officer isn't in the electrical industry, and could use this commentary as prima facie evidence, I'[ll say this. The Officer was reasonable, I was doing about 92 or 93 when I spotted him coming up from behind, and he wrote the ticket for 10 over, per "pace" write out on the ticket. So it's not a matter of not whether I'm innocent or not, it's about only being punished one time for the violation.

From my place in the country, to work and back, it's 174 miles, so I stay in Vegas on the weekdays, and go home on weekends. In the surrounding neighborhood, the pay for an electrician is about half what Vegas pays, and the area is not known for liberal judges. So may have to take a half a day off to sit in court, to avoid further damage. Think I'll look up my prepaid for the area, and see if they know the judge, and the "usual trail' to keep my head below the target range, and have them seal the deal, if that's possible. Still fishing for anyone's experience with one of the "slimepool's" as to routes to consider.

traffic citations are mostly about collecting revenue so in most cases there are ways to pay the fine but not get a traffic record. different states call the process different things.

Unless i'm on the road. Then you'd probably actually get in the passing lane and go around me. I generally get in the right lane, put the cruise control on at (or most times below) the speed limit, and enjoy the ride. It's great, everyone passes me and i have the whole road to myself. The funny thing is when i'm on a long trip and i see the same vehicle pass me four or five times during the course of the day.

In Florida you can do an ONLINE driving course and keep the pionts off and keep the good driving record with the insurance company. Cost $30 to $60. If you can do this with the so called lawer, go for, it is woth it in the long run.

Wasn't me. One: I never had that much hair, and Two: what I did have was blonde anyway. And it can't be my brother... he works in accounting down in Dallas, Tx. The only thing I have in common with this guy is the 9mm he's got.

Are you the guy doing 65 in the left lane with everyone passing you on the right at 85 and cutting you off?

No, I'm the guy in the right lane with a cell phone stuck in his ear, intermittantly crossing over the lane lines a smidge.

I like to think of that as using all the concrete that the taxpayers have paid for. Why limit yourself to two little lines of concrete in a big wide lane? :D

I pay my taxes twice a year. So, yes, I do own both sides of the road!"

That's good. Usually it's the guy weaving in the left lane doing 10 MPH under the speed limit who's on his cell phone.

I think they call it "Probation before judgement" around here. You might want to ask an attorney about the procedure. My son used that on his first ticket when he was a teenager, and it kept the points off his record.:)
