Does NEC code permit wire nut splices in a Service entrance or sub panel?

Take a look at 312.8.

The answer is yes if you can comply with 312.8 as Don has mentioned. This is a very common practice on service upgrades where the existing conductors are too short.

Just for the record,no wire nuts on a Service Entrance,the main panel now that's ok.
