Split bolt connectors for aluminum

I have the need to use split bolt connectors to splice copper to a 400 mcl aluminum line. As I look at a Penn-Union data sheet it indicates that their SW series is UL Listed for cu/al until you get to the SW-12, which indicates "Can be used on aluminum conductor but is not UL listed for that application". This is a copper alloy-bodied connector (tin plated) with a spacer. Can anyone tell me why this size is not UL Listed when the smaller sizes of this same product are? Bottom line - is it OK to use the SW-12 for joining copper to aluminum?

Several products that aren't used frequently don't have the money spent on them to get or maintain a UL listing. The products a tested by the manufacturer and "labeled" just not listed. Not all products need to be listed either. :)
