I seriously doubt that. NEMA has a really strong relationship with the healthcare industry. We are "The Association of Electrical Equipment and Medical Imaging Manufacturers". The Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) is a division of NEMA.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep concerning yourself with this. I am not aware of any NEMA activities that are moving AFCIs into this direction and we are extremely engaged in the development of the NFPA 99 and the FGI Guidelines...

Maybe we should all push to get them required in Article 517....nuisance trips would probably get more attention there
