The ground bar mounting hole locations are formed using a method that produces more metal for the threads. Think of a punch that forms a tube with a hole at the bottom of it. The walls of the tube provide the thickness for the screw threads.

Yeah, i was referring to those who like myself put ground bars in custom locations.

It's two threads, so you can drill and tap for a 10-32 screw.

actually, there's no reference in the code that i'm aware of for a 10/32 screw. the requirement for bonding is for "two threads."

and in a 1/16" thick enclosure, ANY /32" thread will do. 6/32, 8/32, or 10/32.

a lot of the equipment bar kits, such as siemen's ECGB10 kit come with 2 - 8/32 screws. i suppose that's 4 threads.

My point was it was two threads. I was correcting the poster that said it was 3 threads. I just happened to say 10-32 as that's what most ground screws are sold in SH. I wasn't restricting it to #10.
