It's not really an exception.

Under 555.1 scope it states "Private, noncommercial docking facilities constructed or occupied for the use of the owner or residents of the associated single family dwellings are not covered by this article."

So boat docks only associated with a single family dwelling are not covered by Article 555.

OK thats exactly what this is. A single family dwelling for the use of the owner. If this was any kind of commercial I would pipe it all in. Im good thanks guys!

UF with a green insulated ground is available for this purpose, but is hard to find and in most cases has to be special ordered

I haven't wired a dock yet, but you never know!

Inspectors here are requiring SS attachment hardware when used on the newer treated lumber. It is supposedly more corrosive to regular fasteners and they don't want the staples etc to rust away leaving an unsecured cable or conduit.
