I have recently inspected a stand alone generation system that was damaged by lightning. The grounding electrode system met the 2002 NEC. During a lightning storm the inverter system was incapacitated. Where would I find information on other protection which might help. One of the things I question was a #6 ground run from the generator on the wind tower to the grounding electrode system. This might be a path back to the inverter that would cuase a problem. Any suggestions or comments.
