I have a Generator install in which I Can meet all necessary clearances in regards to the generator itself. However the unit will set 18"away from the house and about 6" off to the side of the meter. any thoughts or concerns related to the clearance between the generator and the meter?

Power company has its rules for meter clearances. Typically a 3' wide zone, but the meter does not have to be centered in that zone.

There’s plenty of room directly behind and on the right. I’m going to talk to inspector tomorrow. I’m just looking for different perspective on the 30” rule

Depends. Inspector has little to do with it from a POCO POV...

Well that doesn’t help. Thanks for your attention. I think I have one other practical option
