Stepper Motor Step Loss Issue

Hello everyone,

I'm using a regular CNC engraving machine, and the stepper motor moves normally under no-load and returns to zero.

However, it starts losing steps as soon as it begins cutting the workpiece, and the dimensions become increasingly off-track. I've checked the power supply, wiring, and drive current, but I still can't find the cause.

Has anyone encountered the same problem? I hope you can help me.
 
I would go to millwrighttalk.com and see if they can help. If someone can help here just do not explain a how-to fix it just what the possible problems may be.
