Can a movable shelf have quads under a bottom shelf that is screwed down and cords ran into it ?

I'm confused. Cords ran into it how? Through cord connectors? Or plugged in? Sounds like you're proposing to wire "furniture", which is not permanent wiring of a building, so it's okay (I think).

No actually was removing it today.They had a 2 inch hole thru removable wood shelf to a quads under it.Dont even ask if it was ever permitted.
