We are having a disagreement on the interpretation of strapping flex conduit. The requirement of supports within 12-inches of box, conduit bodies and terminations. The disagreement comes with the phrase terminations. Would it be a requirement to strap the FMC within 12-inches when it transitions from EMT to FMC? The issue is that the ends of the FMC are being considered as a termination, would this be a correct statement?

Re: strapping flex conduit

When reading 348.30(A) I would agree that this statement is correct.

Re: strapping flex conduit

Logically I see this as no different than if a jbox were interposed between the flex and EMT, with the wire a straight pull through the jbox.

Yea, it gets a strap IMO.

Re: strapping flex conduit

It`s a transition from one type of race way to another.Must meet a requirements of a box fiting.
