That's how I have done it! Works Great! Pipe and wire is the way to go so when the post light or what ever, needs to be changed out you'll be all set.

Believe it or not, it works just as well on UF as it does on NM. Just squeeze to cut the covering, push with your thumb to separate the covering, ease off ever so slightly, and pull. As long as you keep the stripper perpendicular to the cable, it doesn't do any more insulation damage than it does with NM.

While no argument could convince me that I could strip romex any faster with anything but my knife, I'd certainly try the stripper on UF. My knife is not all that fast on UF.

The grounding wire usually runs down the middle. I take a razor knife, slice into the center of the cable, drag it along the ground (towards the center of the cable),pull out the bare cable, Then the two insulated wires I use my stripper (10awg) put a slight cut and strip the whole outer insulation off each conductor.
Ditto.

Interested to try the romex stripper bit last touched on. But I ain't gonna drop cash for the strippers now. :)

I'm with Hillbilly,
Stripping UF is just like removing a Bra from your girlfriend or wife.
A sharp knife & a little finese goes a lot farther than brut force.

Hmm maybe my girlfriend will be wearing a bra tonight she doesn't plan on wearing again. I might have to ask first.
