Structural Member through a j box/pull box---- repost with pictures now

I need assistance in locating a code reference dealing with a contractor building a junction box in place with a structural beam running through the interior and no metal on the side against the concrete ceiling with penetrations through the concrete to an enclosure above? The uni-strut frame will hold the skin of the box. Also doesn?t such an enclosure require being listed?

If you call this a junction or pull box I have a hard time finding acceptance in 314.

If you want to call this an aux gutter the only thing in 366 that requires listing is nonmetallic gutters installed outdoors.

I do question whether or not there should be a back to this enclosure. Also consider that enclosures that stand on floor often do not have a bottom, but they are likely listed for that purpose.

I reposted this becuase I now have pics to load and no one has addressed my biggest concern. There is a structural beam in the so called enclosure.

If the structural member were wood or other combustible material there would probably be no question, which leaves the question being does there need to be a back to this enclosure? Large switchgear often has open bottom, is that any different other than that gear has been tested and listed? That gear likely can not be installed on a combustible floor.

It is possible to comply with that without fully enclosing the back side of the assembly.

would he have an issue if the box above the floor is a junction box or a switch gear with bottom? Also has to be 'specifically permitted elsewhere in the code'

And that elsewhere may be 110.3(B), if it is listed and instructions allow open bottom entry.

This on site fabricated enclosure is probably not listed though.

What is this listing you speak of?
Where is it required for a custom box?
