Sub Panels ?

The other thread got me to wondering. Sub panel with EMT or rigid conduit. I don't think you

can but, Three wires 2 hots, 1 neutral, & use the metallic conduit as the ground ?

metallic raceways are listed for grounding, given the proper fittings.

Some jobs spec grounding conductors, then you need wires.

also 517 needs wires.

[Rewire]

The drawback is that at some point in its lifespan the potential to lose your grounding system on metallic pipeing is has a probability. Back in my construction days ground wires were always in the specs

I did not say I'd do it just that it is legal. I always prefer as few splices in my grounding, not one every 10 feet or so.

EMT and RMC are both listed as EGCs in 250.118.
