A search of local codes and even more confusing a google search of sub panel wiring left me to ask the following.
I am building a shop/garage. The sub panel will be 160’ from the house. Having the the path directional bored as it goes under a drive way and deck to get to main panel in house.
I do weld and use a 10hp converter to run 3Ph machines.
I will run a 125A breaker in the main.
2/0-2/0-2/0-1/0 Aluminum wire to the sub sound right for that distance.
I also drove a separate ground bar for the sub.
- So does the wire sound correct ? It falls between 1/0 and 2/0 so I was not 100% sure
- does my ground have to be connected to rebar also or a second rod? What I see says no but wanted to ask.
I am in Wisconsin if I that influences response.
Thank you in advance.
