Is anyone using any software or service to put together submittals for commodity items?
I have used the Submittal Manager from Trade Service and I think it is horrible.

Is there any other options without going to every vendor website and search for PDFs?

That's how I've always done it. If you find a better way to skin this cat, let us know.

I have a huge folder on my computer with PDF's of all kinds of material that I've used on previous jobs and submittals. Most are named by manufacturer and part #. This makes it easier to put a new submittal together. It keeps from having to find it over and over on the manufacturer's website.

Yep, just that ^^^^. Usually I check to see if there is an updated cut sheet. I've already sent back one submittal twice because they weren't using the latest fire alarm cut sheets.

For fixtures and gear, I let the suppliers quoting the job put together a submittal package. For devices, etc..., I pull cut sheets from the manufacturer website.
