Sorry if i am bashing GE but i have yet seen quality from them.

I'm no GE "fan" really. I was cursing them vigorously last weekend while putting together some 20 year old recycled crap (oops, I mean "value engineered") switch gear the architect wanted at Liberty Park elementary.

Having to work 11 hours on easter sunday (and 8 on saturday) may have lowered my tolerance threshold for poor mechanical designs some though.

GE is just like enerybody else. Got a quality product line and a lumberyard DYI junk line. I have used and like the GE Powerline Gold Series stuff. CH stuff is top shelf as long as you stay away from their BR line. SqD QO is, in MHO, the best but I wouldn't walk across the street for a free truckload of their Homeline stuff. Same with Siemens. Their ITE copper bus line is okay for the money but the Murray line is not as HD and only comes in AL bus. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. If you are planning on standing behind what you install the extra $ for quality equipment is worth it. When I worked for my brother at his New Idea farm impliment dealership we had a sign that read, "We stand behind everything we sell, except our manuer spreaders". Nobody ever argued with that.

Sounds like you were "hopping" mad.

 It was a bad weekend all around at the school. Another bunch of guys had a 4" buried pipe full of rocks and dirt that was to feed the disconnect/xformer/gear we were working on.

It had to work or there wasn't going to be any power on monday.

The check was nice, but I was a zombie for 4 hours on monday.
