Subpanel wiring - 100amp

I have a 150amp panel in the basement of the house. Approximately 65' away from the house is the detached garage I am building. To get to the panel in side the house and to the panel in the garage I am about 115' panel to panel.

I ran 2" PVC conduit underground from the house to the garage. I bought a Square D 100amp main panel and a grounding kit for it. I plan to put a 100amp breaker in my house panel and run wire to the 100 amp panel in the garage. I am not sure if I am interpreting NEC properly. Seems like running Aluminum I only need 2-2-2-4 aluminum at 100amp. Can anyone confirm this? Also, should I do THHN? THHN doesn't need conduit within the structure correct (basement of house)?

I will drive two 8' copper 5/8" dia. rods at least 6' apart outside the garage. I will not combine the ground and neutral, they will be separate.

Thanks for your help. I have read numerous threads on this too and it seems some people said just put a 90amp breaker in for #2 aluminum, but may need #1 al for 100amp. Plus, now I am not sure the difference between #2 and 2/0 awg. The more I read the more confused I get.
