Sump pit

Usually when I wire a sump pump in an outdoor tank for drainage I cut the ends off the cords of the pump/float and install the cords into PVC box with a single switch and cover to make it weather proof. This is the same as I do for septic systems and without gfi's.
After reading some of the posts here:
Is cutting the cord ends off legal?
Is an out door sump pump and float required top be GFI protected?

I never cut the the ends off... First reason, I doubt your the guy going back to replace the pump, check some of these pics out HERE!

I don't buy these pre-made packages, I just make my own... This is by far the best way to install the electric for a pump outside... IMO...

cutting cord ends usually voids the warranty.
