This should be quick and painless. House built in the early 80's. Back then POCO supplied us with the meter bases and a 2" RMC riser with a kick on the bottom.

STV= spot the violation. Aside from the earth settling, I see one glaring violation.

It does not seem that 300.5(J) is the issue in your area...

No sir, the settling was an issue around the water ways here in the 80's. The violation I'm looking at here has nothing to do with the conduit.

My first thought was, "Who put that machine bolt right through the 2" EMT?"


One does not normally see the plastic bushings inside a meter socket once it's all buttoned up.

Hard to tell, but is that compresser installed in front of some 'lectrical stuff?

Could it be the painting of the meter enclosure the same color as the house...thus camouflaging it.:grin:

Not that that would be an NEC issue....

I'm curious about the elec panel on the far side of the meter, with what appears to be a line set coming out of the bottom.....

Possibly no locknut inside the meter socket.

Well the service panel is outside and everyone knows the proper place for that is in the basement. :wink:

Hard to tell, but to me, it looks like that sealtight 90 is glued into a PVC coupler.
