My company has been using mostly SMA Core 1 inverters for commercial PV installations, but SMA is having supply chain problems; we are starting to have some difficulty in procuring enough of them for our projects, so we are looking at alternatives. We have a line into a source for Sungrow inverters; I have seen them at trade shows but I don't have any direct experience with them. We would be most interested in their 36kW and 60kW models.

I would be interested in hearing about any firsthand experiences and what you thought about them.

The company I was with previously used them (string inverters) on a couple of 5MW sites. The seemed to hold up pretty well for the limited amount of time I worked with them. They also sent out techs to walk us through the system thoroughly. Their android platform was non-existent which was aggravating for the techs who did ot use IOS but they were pretty much trouble free. I have not been exposed tot he central inverters but that doesn't sound like it will be what you are looking at. The technical support was miles above SMA in my opinion. SMA seemed to have moved to making all of their money off of service calls.....

My team commissioned 320 SunGrow 125 kW inverters this past year and only had to swap out 1 inverter. They have been holding up well in the first few months of production, no real issues to note yet. Haven't had much experience with their customer service because we haven't needed it, so I am pretty happy with them so far. We are building several more projects using their inverters this year.
