Back when copper was on its speculated price highs, HD had much lower prices than everyone else for about 6-12 months. I read, maybe here, that they had blanket pricing that they were enforcing on the wire manufacturers for the much lower prices they had in their contracts. Most likely the same is happening now, new contracts were drawn, with much higher pricing, and now with copper pricing much lower, they are still forced to buy wire at higher prices.
