Anybody know of a code requirement that says data cables below raised computer floor have to be supported in some way rather than just laid on the concrete below? I am trying to persuade an owner that under floor tray is a better way to go and I need something more than just "it looks better and it is more organized". Thanks in advance.

I assume this is in an IT room?. Not much, in way of the NEC code, if in an IT room. You might could use 800.133(C)...Communications cables must not be supported by a raceway...(Thats if ur running it over the top of raceways).
That might convince them.

good luck

Come on guys, surely some of you data center design gurus have delt with this before. If I don't get your free advice, I'm gonna have to buy that freaking expensive book from BICSI and I was saving that money for beer.
