Supporting a box with EMT - 314.23 (E)

It seems that this section is being interpreted by most (including MH) that I must use a threaded raceway to support a box under 100 cubic inches. This section clearly says I need to use a box with threaded hubs, but where does it say I need a threaded raceway?

I think I can use EMT to support a box with threaded hubs? Whatcha think?

An enclosure that does not contain a device(s), other than splicing devices, or supports a luminaire(s), a lampholder, or other equipment and is supported by entering raceways shall not exceed 1650 cm3 (100 in.3) in size. It shall have threaded entries or identified hubs. It shall be supported by two or more conduits threaded wrenchtight into the enclosure or hubs. Each conduit shall be secured within 900 mm (3 ft) of the enclosure, or within 450 mm (18 in.) of the enclosure if all conduit entries are on the same side.

I don't think that threading an EMT connector into a hub (which is not an allowed use anyway) counts as a "conduit threaded wrench tight into the enclosure or hub".

You could use, e.g. a compression EMT to Rigid change over fitting to a small piece of rigid threaded into each hub. That counts as conduit.

It says right there that the conduits must be threaded wrenchtight into the hubs, not conduit fittings. Thus, you need threaded conduit, not EMT.

You would still need to add supports for the short piece of conduit. The EMT can't support the conduit.

I agree. Also this is one of the few places in the code that the raceway must be installed wrenchtight.
