Swimming pool gfci protected

I understand that swimming pool motors must be gfci protected but what about gas pool heaters & a UV light that treats the water

It depends on which code you are using. New to the 2017 is this

680.28 Gas-Fired Water Heater. Circuits serving gas-fired
swimming pool and spa water heaters operating at voltages
above the low-voltage contact limit shall be provided with
ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel.

Not sure about the UV light but I would check with the installation instructions. The nec doesn't seem to mention it
