doesn't the junction box for a swimming pool ight have to be brass by code? I found the cover to be plastic....

Re: swimming pool light junction box

No, jnsh2, they don't. 680.24(A)(1) lists 3 conditions for the construction of junction boxes. They can be copper, brass, suitable plastic, or other approved corrosion-resistant material. This section also requires that they provide electrical continuity between every connected metal conduit and the grounding terminals. So, you will frequently find them with a brass base and plastic cover. Hope this helps.

Re: swimming pool light junction box

City of Tampa requires a listed deck box.So I guess it depends on where you are.
