The NEC only specifies three types of equipment that must have clearances from the pool. These are switching devices, receptacle outlets, and lighting/ceiling fan outlets. The only wiring that is subject to clearance requirements are overhead conductors and underground conductors not associated with the pool.
Other equipment associated or not associated with the pool including the pool pump itself has no clearance requirements. In the event this fixed equipment is within 5? of the pool, it must be bonded to the equipotential grid as required by 680.26(B)(5).
The 2008 NEC edition will (may) have clearance requirements for "other outlets" such as powe-limited, fire alarm, communications, CATV, ect. (Thanks to me )
