404.7 refers to General Use Switches. A General Use Switch is not what is displayed in the previous posts. Those are General Use Snap Switches. Look in Art. 100.

IMPO, 404.7 does not apply to the switches shown in the above posts.

That's a very interesting point.

But when I look at the two definitions, as much as I want to take your point, I see that:

All general use snap switches are general use switches,
----and----
Not all general use switches are general use snap switches.

The Article 100 3-word term "general use switch", as used in 404.7 seems to apply to the switches included in the two different devices, that Pierre has posted photos of, above.

The definition of Switch, General-Use Snap, is "A form of general-use switch......"

I can't see how 404.7 wouldn't apply.

What about 3- and 4-ways? :-?

I just bought a Leviton version of this combo device to gfi an outdoor light near a spa and the switch portion was bad. It was a long trip back to the home depot so I brought my meter in and opened another package. Bad switch again. Third one worked and is installed but I'm wondering for how long..
