Switched outlet location

Yes, if the entire receptacle is switched it does not count towards the 6'/12' requirement.
Should have looked before my last reply instead of trusting my gut feeling:ashamed1:

210.52(2) says the outlets required by 210.52 shall be in addition to the mentioned switched outlet.

But it also says "a wall switch in accordance with 210.70(A)(1), Exception No. 1," which deals with required lighting outlets, so one might be able to say if there is a lighting outlet other then a switched receptacle that a switched receptacle still can count toward the 210.52 required receptacles? Anyone else's thoughts on this?

So there are two switches, one for the receptacle and one for the lighting outlet?
