Switchgear location and labeling

Hello,

Does any part of the NEC specify where switchgear located be located (i.e., on the floor of an industrial plant, enclosed in a room, separate building outside the room) under different situations?

Also, I know that the NEC must address appropriate labeling for switchgear. Can someone tell me what section that can be found?

There is really nothing in the NEC that specifies a specific location for switchgear to be located. If the area is a hazardous location you would need to look at appropriate sections for the type of hazardous location.

As for labeling of switchgear take a look at 110.16 for the requirments for arc-flash labeling and 408.4 for circuit directory requirements.
