Table 310.16(B)(6) says I can use a 2/0 copper for a 200A residential service conductor size [THWN].

What if scenario: The calculated load is 190A......still allowed to use the 2/0?

Having a discussion at work - some believe it is still OK because the table automatically considers load diversity.

Thoughts? Thank you

If your Art. 220 load calcs show a load of 190A and it is a residential service, you are good to go. You can also use this value for a feeder in residential as long as it carries 100% of the load. Even if your calc showed 200 A you could use 2/0.
