Tamper proof receptacle

For adult daycare requirement from ages upto 80 years old is their a requirement in NEC 2014 for tamper resistant receptacle?

If the day care is a residential (a house turned into a adult daycare) then it is required.
 
What does that mean old folks cuss out forever...why would that they do just because if TP receptacles is oit in they cant buzz themself and get shock?

Because they've not buzzed themselves in 80 years with a standard receptacle that doesn't fight them every time they plug something in.
May not be in you AHJ but in ours as you get old the memory fades and so does sense of what to do and how to do it such as pligging something in and instead of plig place hands...

Good idea or not they are required everywhere under 2017 code.

The general notion behind TR receptacle is indisputable,, they are safer and can prevent shocks. The problem is what is available on the common market can be hard to plug into.

The other problem is that there is like three hundred million receptacles out there and only five or six shocks that end up sending someone to the emergency room, so it's hard to sell folks on the idea that they are needed for safety reasons.
